"The raider way"

the sunnyvale lacrosse club (L.c.) Code of conduct

The Sunnyvale Raiders L.C. is committed to providing a productive, safe, and fun learning environment in which its participants will learn skills and qualities that will stay with them for many years to come. These skills and qualities will go beyond the physical aspect of lacrosse, and directly impact their character as individuals.

Going forward, the following is considered “The Raider Way”

By participating for the Sunnyvale Raiders L.C. as a player or coach, you agree to the following:

1 – Every Raider must give their best at practices and games while maintaining a positive and uplifting attitude. Raiders are expected to be positive and uplifting towards themselves, their teammates, their coaches, and everyone involved in the lacrosse community.

2 – Raiders and Raider parents are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that honors the game and demonstrates respect for coaches, teammates, officials, opposing teams, parents, and spectators. No exceptions. An infraction may result in loss of playing time and/or disciplinary action up to and including dismissal from the program.

3 – Zero tolerance for disrespectful behavior. This includes, but is not limited to: back talk, negative attitudes, belittling teammates/opponents, taunting, fighting, foul language, and unsportsmanlike conduct. An infraction may result in loss of playing time and/or disciplinary action up to and including dismissal from the program.

4 – Zero tolerance for tobacco, drug, and alcohol use by any Raider. An infraction may result in loss of playing time and/or disciplinary action up to and including dismissal from the program.

5 – Raiders will be ready to participate for all practices, games, and/or any other Raider functions on time. Everyone’s time is valuable, do not take it for granted.

6 – Raiders must attend all practices, games, and events unless the coach has deemed it optional. Raiders who are unable to attend a practice, game, or event must notify the head coach prior to the start time. An infraction may result in loss of playing time and/or disciplinary action up to and including dismissal from the program.

7 – If a Raider is not in attendance at school the day of a practice, game, or event, they will be ineligible to attend any Raider activity that day. This includes excused absences, un-excused absences, or suspensions. Any extenuating circumstances are up to the head coach’s discretion. If it is later found that a Raider neglected to inform the head coach of an absence from school and still participated, disciplinary action may result.

Any issues, questions, or concerns with the aforementioned, or any other Sunnyvale Raiders L.C. matter, should be directed to the head coach.
